Rehomed Dogs

Dogs that have been found new homes during this month

March 2010
MOLLY
Molly is a 6 month old Black and White Springer bitch pup who is more or less house trained but still has the odd excitable widdle, she is a lovely friendly girl who is used to being left for reasonable periods in the kitchen where she sleeps on a blanket. She is used to children from the age of 18 months upwards and is fine with other dogs and doesn’t chase birds but she has never encountetred a cat nor has she seen livestock. She does pull a bit on the lead but at her age will be very trainable; her recall is good and she rarely wanders far from you. In the car she is a bit fidgety at first but does settled eventually. She needs to travel more then it will be less of an event for her and she will not be as excited. Her owners have very young children and Molly is knocking them over because like most Springers of her age she is very boisterous so they are having to shut her away when the children are about which is not fair on her. Molly is looking for a new home for her where she can be with people who have more time to spend with her and can give her more exercise.
BILLY

Billy needs your help urgently. He is a approx 10 years old and is a Liver and White Springer. His present owners describe him as having been dumped on them by a friend whose children have tormented and abused him for a long time. They have taken him in but clearly don’t want him and he is not welcome. Apparently things came to a head in his old home when he either nipped a child’s ear or caught it with his claw. We don’t know the actual circumstances because no one was around.

He is house trained but howls if left shut out in the garden for long periods which leads us to suspect this is where he spends most of his time. He pulls a little on his lead but wears out quickly because he has some weakness in his back legs. No one has taken him to the Vets because they really are not that bothered. He is not destructive in the house if left for reasonable periods i.e. about 4 hours. His recall is ok once he is used to you. He is fine with other dogs and does not chase birds but has never lived with cats not had experience of livestock.

IZZY & OZZY
Izzy and Ozzy are a pair of Liver and White Springers, who need a home together as their owner is now looking after a grandchild and can't cope. The dogs are not getting the exercise that they need. Ozzy is nearly five years and has his full tail. His companion Izzy has her fifth birthday in June and is docked. Both are good with the owner's grand-children and good (but quite wary) with other dogs, but have no cat experience. They are good off-lead, but pull on the lead. They travel well in the car and are house trained. They have lived together since pups and are neutered and spayed. Their boosters may have lapsed but the owner will get them done including kennel cough. Both are microchipped. They have seen sheep and are OK. They are fed dried food plus meat.
