Please help me to get a Petition to the 100,000 Mark! This will force the Government into a debate on why Animal Charities are NOT able to apply for funding from the National Lottery and hopefully change the lottery charter.

Currently the National Lottery will not entertain any grant of any description to Animal Charities. This is despite the fact that nearly everyone who plays this game does so with money which has been taxed and despite the fact that probably 50% or more of the people who play the lottery own pets or keep animals. The Lottery, which is licenced by HMG, is run by Camelot but whoever holds the licence should be forced to allocate a percentage of all "good causes" money to Animal Charities. In one recent grant the lottery handed out £15,000 - to study the History of strawberry growing! This is a disgrace when dogs and other animals are being abused, made homeless and even killed in the current climate. Charities such as ourselves, the Blue Cross, RSPCA etc would all benefit from a lottery which supports Animals.
