Hi everyone from Copper!
Apologies for not writing in over a year.... I've been very busy!!!  Last year I wrote telling you about my operation to repair my torn cruciate ligament and....I've still not really been out of the doctors since!  This has mostly been due to recurring ear infections which never seem to leave me for too long!  I had an operation last month to try and fix my ear once and for all but within 3 weeks I had another awful infection...the doctors say I'm one in a million....but I knew that already!

In the past year mummy and daddy have bought a bigger house which is great....it even has these weird things called stairs! My brother Harry and I have had endless amounts of fun bombing up and down them!  Our new next door neighbour is lovely too...she says Harry and I are the best neighbours she has EVER had!  She always shouts us to come out and get a cuddle!  She also has a cat so we have endless hours of fun watching it!

The past year has seen Harry get sick too which has been our only downside.  I need to explain to you about Harry.  He came to live with us 6 months after I arrived as another unwanted dog.  He was the quietest and soppiest Springer I have ever seen!  He taught me to eat when I didn't want to, taught me to play when I didn't know how to and taught me to love...and be loved in return.  His nickname where we live is Haribo...because all the kids and grown ups love him so!  Anyway, he had a limp for months...mummy took him to the vets lots of time and they said it was muscle strain amongst other things!  I wasn't convinced because he only seemed to have this limp on and off when mummy was around!  Then he had a fall and he yelped really loudly, I was really scared and mummy shouted at daddy to get him to the doctors and not to leave until she got an answer!  Anyways,  Harry got referred to a special doctor who told mummy and daddy Harry had a tumour and the only chance for him to make it was to get his leg and shoulder removed.  We spent the last night before he left to go to hospital playing!  Harry didn't have a limp and was really hyperactive.  The next morning they all left and mummy was crying a lot.  Then they came home without Harry and he didn't come back for a few days but I sat at the door and waited for him.  It was strange not having him come barging through when he had eaten his dinner to eat mine!  Then Harry came home and he looked strange...he was clumsy and cried a lot!  Mummy slept downstairs with him for a few days but I think she kept him awake because she kept crying!  Silly mummy because soon Harry was running around and showing us that the saying "three legs and a spare" is very true.

The doctors told mum that Harry would probably only live until February at the most but I'm pleased to say me and him are still partners in crime!  Two weeks ago Harry ate a whole 16 inch jalepeno pepper pizza...and most of the box too!  I didn't even have a chance to grab a slice...to say mummy was unhappy is a little bit of an understatement!

So that's us...that's my family!  I'm still a Daddys boy...he works away and I protect mummy and Harry until he is home!  Then he rolls around on the floor with me until I tire him out (no stamina!!)!!  Harry on the other hand is a total mummys boy!  Where she is....he is usually lying right beside her!  And when both of them are doing "boring things" like housework then Harry and I run around chasing things and stealing mummys underwear!

I have enclosed some pics of us...people say we are the most handsome Springers around....and I second that!   Love to you all and will write again in a year!

Dear NWESSR

We have just had an energetic holiday in the Lake District with the dogs and thought you would appreciate some photos of Charlie for your website.  As you can see he has had a lovely time with his best friend Paddy and is a lot fitter than both of us!!! - if there is water he is in it but oddly enough when it comes to having to have a bath, he hides!

Hope all is well with you & hope to see you at one of the walks this year.
Best wishes

Rob, Nikki & Charlie.

Dear NWESSR,
Thought you may like an update on how Cassie is getting along

See has settled in well and she seems to be eventually getting over her kennel cough and I hope that the vet will give her the all clear on monday when we go.  She was initially was very wary about any food offered to her but she has improved greatly, she is enjoying her walks and I am able to let her off the
lead on the fields and be confident that she will be okay, however every now and then she tests me by pushing the boundaries.

She is a lovely dog and craves affection which we are very happy to give her.
Many thanks for finding her for us.

Thanks
Carole

Hi Poppy here, thought I would let you know how I'm getting on in my new home, I arrived on 6th February and it feels like I have been here forever, I've settled myself in just great.  We have some fantastic places to walk, I love the beach, jumping about in the waves and we all go to the local woods where we have deers and lots of rabbits, I get on the scent but they all seem to disappear before I catch them!!  Mum, Dad and my big sister Lucy watch the owls flying about, but I'd rather be racing round finding muddy puddles!  There is even a little stream for me to cool down in... heaven.

I've managed to chew a heel off my mum's boots and pulled the lining out of dad's trainers - funny they dont seem to leave shoes lying around anymore!!  I have to do with pinching socks and hiding them in my basket... lol

Everybody I meet tells me what a gorgeous girl I am, I already know that but I still enjoy the compliments.  I hope you can see from the pictures how much I love my new home and they love having me here, my big sister Lucy and I have the biggest cuddles and she is great at tickling my tum!

Thanks so much for matching us together
Love Poppy, Lynne, Paul & Lucy xxxx

SPOOK - Just to let you know Spook is absolutely great he has been to Scotland in car and played with my two year old grandson, he's had the full treatment with buggies mobile dog grooming, registered with our vet and had to have a tooth out and a small lump removed from his kneck. He is great in the house and has not done any damage, loves it on the mere behind our house, runs round wild but does come back, eventually (in Spooks time) He's very good with other dogs and people, it is like he has been with us forever. Thanks Brian, Claire and Spook
