Just read that Duke is staying with his family, what wonderful news! I'm sure that with some time and extra attention Duke will soon realise he doesn't need to be jealous. I can remember bringing my now (almost) 5 year old daughter home from hospital and the fears I had that our then 4 year old Springer Holly would dislike her or think she was a new throwing toy. I spent lots of time giving my dogs extra cuddles and walks without the baby when but Holly soon adored Hannah. Sadly I lost Holly suddenly a couple of years ago to AIHA and now have a naughty two year old called Saffy as it was important to me that Hannah grew up with dogs, however they both had to learn boundaries. I wish this family the very best of luck and a happy Springer filled future. xxxxxxxxxx |

So glad that Piper has settled in well, it's a great help to know that he is ok. We know that he will be much happier now that he doesn't need to be left on his own while we're at work, but that didn't make it any easier for us. He is greatly missed by the whole family and his absence has left a massive void in our house and our lives. Please pass on extra hugs from us. (Extra thanks must go to all at NWESSR for your help. Picked Piper up yesterday, he fitted right into our house gets on well with our Jack Russel. It's as if he has a;ways been here and it's only been 26 hrs. May I just say what a brilliant organisation you are doing a terrific job, Well Done all the best Peter |

Hi Everyone Just thought it was about time I gave an update on Alfie who came to live with us in Sept 09. After a few settling in problems, we have a fantastic, loving little boy, who really enjoys his woodland walks and occasional trips to the beach. He's very much a daddys boy. He caught his first pidgeon the other week. Eventually let it go and it flew off unharmed. He's getting on great with our Cocker and they have fast become very close, although there is very little interaction with other doggie friends (too busy sniffing out rabbits etc) he is becoming more sociable. |

Thanks to everyone who entered the Calendar Competition which closed on 30th June, all your Images have now been downloaded! There are some fantastic images of dogs with Snow on their faces, sitting in front of Castles, on Trees, Springing about in fields, rivers on beaches and admiring the views on tops of mountains. There was even a seafaring doggie walking about a yacht - in fact I think we have been sent just about every type of springy image we could possibly get, so thanks v much because the winners will make a great calendar. Judging starts on Sunday 25th July and we expect to have some winning pics announced by mid-august. |
