Hello Spangle peeps,

Sorry I have been off line for a while - the hoomans have been busy finishing the new kennel AKA Princess Hildas' throne room. It is all done - guess what...I surprised myself and them by insisting I slept in it all night on the very first night and they have not got me out since! Well, TBH I can't resist a good snuggle up with the Princess or my baby Gladys who also decided to sleep in there so I would have been lonely in the kitchen anyway. It is a very smart pad, we have loads of toys and a radio and nightlights and heating and soft beds or crates and we get biscuits and treats in there. I will get Big Dog to take some photos for next time.

I have been very busy as always and tomorrow will get even more busy as we are all off on a walk in memory of the Mighty Max who lived here before me but who left to go to play at Rainbow Bridge leaving space and time for me to be loved and looked after. We are going with loads of Spangle friends and some other dogs who think they are dogs but can't be 'cos they are not spangles!

This week I did have a rather dodgy tummy - Lady Dog is sure it is something I picked up when out as all the others were fine. Anyway, she made me some nice stuff in a paste with something that comes from B's, called honey. I scoffed it down and in a couple of days my tummy was right as reign. Wot I want to know is, if B's make honey what do A's and C's make?

This week the hoomans took us to see a lady hooman called Mary Ray who does funny things with her dogs - again not real ones 'cos no spangles in sight. She did a funny dancing thing and apparently was at a big place with lots of dogs called Crufts. Anyway, the lady dog has come back with lots of funny ideas, so this week I learnt with my clicker game how to do 'paw' and 'pat' and I am getting there with 'roll over'. I like the clicker game so will do anything for my treats. I am also starting to skate on Stanley's skateboard - I hope I crack it by summer as I shall ask Lady Dog for some cool sunglasses to wow the girl dogs in as I scoot past!

Today a nice lady came to see my baby Gladys and give her some exercises to do to help her shorty leg be strong. She left us with a really massive rubber ball to play with - the Lady Dog has put it it out of reach but I am going to see if I can get it and show her how good I am at retrieving again.

Talking of that, me and Lady Dog have been to the woods which smell of those birds things called Pheasants - we did some hunting and I had to be very controlled when really I was very excited. But I am a clever dog and sat when told, and led down 'cos I learnt that last week, and came back when she whistled even when I had found one of the pheasants and made it fly. The Lady dog is really chuffed with my work and in the winter we are going to work together with Hilda and Edgar to get the pheasants to fly for the hoomans with guns. I am going to be brill at this I can tell. it is great fun and we all work well as a team.

Anyway, it is a big day tomorrow for the walk so I need to get my rest. We have some buckets ready with Mighty Maxs' photo on to collect all the little money from peoples pockets so other dogs like me can get a great forever home. I will tell you all about it next time.

Big licks and woofs,
Alfred (the great!)
