Hello folks,
Another crazy week in the madhouse for me and the other members of the gang. The Princess Hilda is gradually getting over her lady operation - I have decided to give her a break and let her recover - think she is appreciating it. She is back on track now chasing bunnies so things must be returning to normal. Talking of chasing things - I was in big trouble with the lady dog this week 'cos we went on a lovely walk one sunny morning and just as she took her eye off me, I got my eye on some of those fluffy dogs which hang around in big gangs and baa instead of bark. I thought I would go and see what they were up to as I know the Lady and Big dog do have to deal a lot with gangs of hooligans hanging around so wanted to help them out. Anyway, the silly fluffy type dogs ran away - like a good chap I ran after them - typically they all stuck together but I was pretty determined. When I turned around and noticed that the Lady dog did not seem too pleased with my efforts at dealing with anti-social behaviour so I ran back. Honestly, you can't please some people. Apparently, now I have to do something called 'stock' training as sorting out the fluffy dogs in gangs is not my proper job. I have to leave that to the ones they call, Collies. I am hoping the stock training does not involved putting cans on shelves in a supermarket? Anyway, I started and did some with the Lady dog with the very large black and white dogs which moo instead of bark. A very large gang of them have moved into the field next to our garden. I can't believe the Lady and Big dog let them get away with it . But...I have decided that I must put up with them too and can walk through them without trying to make any arrests! Now I have to try with the fluffy white dogs again when we go over the fields and then the ones they call chickens - these are very odd looking dogs which cluck instead of bark and live in a very small kennel where they do odd poo's which the hoomans take away and boil for breakfast - hummm??
Talking of kennel - Big Dog is getting on with the new luxury one - I am quite keen now to stay in the kennel at night (well, who would not want to sleep with the Princess Hilda?!) but am still babysitting Gladys so for now will stay in the kitchen. But we have all chosen our spots in the new pad even if it is not actually there yet - have a look at our photo! I will be able to choose if I sleep in the kitchen or with the others in the luxury pad when it is finished sometime next month.

Also, talking of poo - the very large black and white dogs, which moo leave lovely fresh poo for us to eat and best of all to roll in. This week I have managed to change my coat colour to a nice shade of green by some fabulous rolling manoeuvres! It is best when I take a large mouthful then go and kiss the Lady dog - she is not keen on that!
The Lady dog has been asked if she will take me to do some of the stuff they call agility. This is where the nutty dogs like Stanley and Edgar jump over things, through things, round things etc and then get to play or eat. I think I will like it especially if I get to play 'tuggy' with lady dog as my reward - I love this game - I have learnt how to stop when she says and give up the tug when she says it is 'dead', then I get to play again. Mind you, I also play this with Gladys and Edgar the poopies. That little Gladys is very tough and quite often she will keep tugging until I let her have the raggy - she is a bossy child but great fun and we have lovely cuddles.
Tonight we had a very special guest. A dog they call a Labrador was found by a nice lady who bought it round to ours to see if Lady or Big dog could help find its owner. Lady dog knew that it belonged to a very fancy couple who live in a huge posh house up the road - it is not a big secret but they are related to the Queen of this country and are even more royal than the Princess Hilda. Anyway, the man from the posh house who they call a Lord, he came to get the Labrador dog and take her back to her posh mansion. TBH, I think she would have had more of a laugh with us at the madhouse! She was telling me she gets to play with things called deer on their estate. Apparently, they are like the fluffy dogs who say baa but not fluffy, don't say Baa and sometimes grow big horns from their heads. Sound a bit scary to me but the Labrador says they turn into nice sausages and steaks! Big dog says that he and lady dog used to live on an estate but that where they live now is much nicer!
Anyway, folks - I am off on to the beach on Saturday with Selina and her pack and some other spaniel mad hoomans - some of the spaniels come from a place called Wales so the hooman call them Welshies - not sure if I will understand their barking if it is in Welsh but I will try, after all Princess Hilda is Irish and I understand her OK. Need to go and find the suncream and specs, I am sure there will be some good looking girl dogs there for me to pose with. Will post some pics next time if the sun comes out.
Stay cool,
Lots of licks and woofs,
Alfred
